Dear SDHXCS families,

Here are the keynotes for the coming Sundays:

  • SAT II Chinese Mock test is scheduled this Sunday 3/3 1:15 pm – 2:40 pm at I-101. The test will take 1 hour. All registered participants must arrive on time with pencils and erasers. Morning credit class students please make sure to eat some snacks before you come to the classroom
  • County Supervisor Outstanding API Students Award (郡长奖)application is due March 3rd. San Diego Asian Americans for Equality and County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar are co-sponsoring an outstanding API students award. Currently, this award is accepting applications. The award is for local high school students of API descent. Please select "San Diego Hua Xia Chinese School" in "Affiliated Organization" list on the application form. Please email yicai@sdhxcs.org if you need further support from us. http://www.sdaafe.org/2019/01/12/2019-county-supervisors-award-apply-now/.
  • Our annual Reading Competition (Regular and Bilingual program) will be held on 3/17 & Speech Competition (Credit program) will be on 3/24. The pre-selection will be held in each class according to the teacher’s schedule. Please help your student get prepared
  • There are two Chinese essay contests open to all the Hua Xia students. 1. “华文创想曲创意作文大赛”please see the attached notice or ask your teachers for details; 2. House of China 2019 Essay Contest. Please obtain the application package from the office F-212
  • Enrichment class half-year registration is open for certain classes. This is the opportunity for students not enrolled in any enrichment classes for the first semester. Please email  jzhang@sdhxcs.org if you have any questions
  • The anonymous parent survey is still ongoing. Your participation is really appreciated, and our students will eventually benefit. A softcopy of the survey is attached. The completed survey can be dropped to the office or emailed to info@sdhxcs.org
  • Good news! An H-mart flagship store is coming soon close to Balboa Avenue. I am working with H-Mart headquarter representative looking for some benefits for our parents and the school as part of their new store grand opening promotion. Stay tuned
  • Snack Bar is located at H building lobby for the convenience of parents and students. Limited options of healthy snacks are available at a donation of $0.50 - $1.00/piece
